Estimate what Gemini 4 Argon will cost on the Gemini API. Argon has no free tier – the API is paid only – and its output price includes thinking tokens, so the reasoning a model does before answering is billed at the output rate. Set your expected traffic below; the calculator shows the split between input cost and output-plus-thinking cost, per day and per 30 days.

Why thinking tokens are the hidden cost driver
Argon’s output price includes thinking tokens: the reasoning tokens the model generates before its visible answer are billed at the output rate, just like the answer itself. A request that shows 1,000 output tokens but thinks for another 1,000 is billed for 2,000 output tokens. That is what the thinking-token ratio above models – at 1x, your billed output doubles.
The 1 December 2026 price rise
The current prices are introductory. On 1 December 2026 every tier doubles: Standard goes from $2 / $10 per 1M input / output to $4 / $20, Batch / Flex from $1 / $5 to $2 / $10, and Priority from $3.60 / $18 to $7.20 / $36. Cached input stays at 5% of the input rate. Use the “Prices from 1 December 2026” toggle to see the same workload at the higher rates.
No free tier
There is no free tier for Argon on the API: access is paid only. A Google AI Pro subscription does not include API or AI Studio access either – that needs Ultra or a paid API key. Full background: Gemini 4 Argon Explained: Access, Pricing and the 1 December Price Rise.
