Meta’s Muse Wonder and Google’s Gemini 4 Argon are two flagship models that reached developers a day apart in October 2026, and they are sold in almost opposite ways: Wonder’s API price is confirmed on Meta’s official pricing page, while Argon’s is published – and doubles on 1 December. Here is the side-by-side, using confirmed figures throughout.

Pricing compared

Muse Wonder’s API price is confirmed at $4 / $20 per 1M input / output tokens on Meta’s official pricing page (checked 22 October 2026).

Gemini 4 Argon’s Standard API price is confirmed: $2 / $10 per 1M until 30 November 2026, doubling to $4 / $20 on 1 December 2026.

That creates the twist in this comparison. Argon starts at half of Wonder’s price; from 1 December, the two match exactly on headline rate. One Argon difference survives the price rise: its output price includes thinking tokens, so billed output can run well above the visible length of the answer.

Benchmarks

On the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, Argon scores 53 and Muse Wonder 52 – effectively level. The higher Meta score belongs to Muse Wonder Full at 56, but Wonder Full is not an API model: it is subscription-only inside Muse Code, on the Power ($50/mo) and Maximum ($200/mo) tiers. Any comparison quoting 56 for “Wonder” is quoting the model you cannot call from the API.

Access compared

Muse Wonder: via the Meta Model API (model ID muse-wonder-1.0, billing required) or a Muse Code subscription; Wonder Full is subscribers-only on Power and Maximum. As of mid-October 2026, Wonder had not reached the consumer Muse app, and there is no free route to it.

Gemini 4 Argon: in the Gemini app and AI Mode for Google AI Pro ($19.99/mo) and Ultra subscribers, and on the API – but the API is paid only, with no free tier, and a Pro subscription does not include API or AI Studio access (Ultra or a paid API key does). Antigravity is Ultra-only. Context is 1,048,576 tokens.

Which should you choose?

  • Lowest API cost before December: Argon. At $2 / $10 it undercuts Wonder’s $4 / $20 until 30 November; from 1 December the headline rates are identical, and Argon’s thinking tokens then matter more than the sticker price.
  • You already pay for Google AI Pro: Argon is included in your Gemini app and AI Mode – but that subscription does not unlock the API.
  • You work in Muse Code: Wonder is the model available there, and Wonder Full (the 56-Index variant) needs a Power or Maximum subscription.
  • You need a million-token context: Argon’s is specified at 1,048,576 tokens.
  • You want a free option: neither model has one – no free route to Wonder, and no free tier for Argon.
